The Youth Jam 2006 organizing committee and TEEN TOUCH Inc. would like to thank all those who played a part in making our first annual “Youth Jam” held on August 26th at the University of Winnipeg such a big success. Without all your support and assistance this event would not have been possible. We also would like to thank the almost 100 volunteers as well as the University of Winnipeg for allowing us use of the facilities. We’ve attached some information on the event as well as some pictures of the day. Thanks again, see you all again next year!

3 on 3 Tournament Results
The day got off to a nervous start, with the real first rain we had received in weeks, but thanks to Greg, Morgan, and Patrick we all got our hands dirty (yes in reality) and got things started almost on time. Congratulations to all the teams who participated in our first 3 on 3 basketball tournament the fair play, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm by both players and parents was appreciated by the organizers and court conveners. Thank you to all the teams that participated, we look forward to a bigger and better tournament next year! A special thanks to all the volunteers involved with the tournament and especially Gerry Trapp for providing equipment, and prizes for the event- your assistance was invaluable. We’d also like to thank the University of Winnipeg, Providence College, and the University of Manitoba basketball programs for having coaches as well as players involved with this event as well as providing prizes. A thank you also to Manitoba High School Athletics Association, Point Douglas Mad Skillz Competition, Basketball Manitoba, Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association and Sportvision Inc. for promoting this tournament among the local basketball community. Bands and Performers in the Quad
We were very happy to have many local artists involved in the day, showing their musical and dancing talents. Among the artists performing were Giv’R, 20 Pound Shovel, Pop the Trunk, Genesis and BRE, and a New Honour. We also would like to thank Floor 13 who had every intention of playing but were unable due to the event schedule running late. We also were fortunate to have a professional DJ as well as The Bun Down Break Down Heap #2 pulling out some Break Dancing moves. Other high energy performers were Fire Dancing from the folks at Funtastic Party and Special Events, and a Body Combat exercise demo provided by Good Life Fitness. It was a real good time with great performances, and a thank you to the many bands who also would have liked to have played but were unable to due time constraints (especially Floor 13).
Boarders on Spence
A shout out to the guys from Kings and the Edge for coming out and showing us some great moves on the portable ramps. We look forward to having the guys out again next year in full force. Thanks again to the City of Winnipeg Community Development and Recreation Services, Kings Sports, The Edge Skatepark, Skatepark West, and the folks at The Gallery Drop In Centre for helping to promote this event.
We also want to thank all the other people mentioned above who came out, interacting and spending time with the Youth of Winnipeg- (Kyries you got to work on your bball skills). Any comments can be directed to myself at kheape@teentouch.org or 945-0951. The staff of TEEN TOUCH Inc. would also like to thank Team Youth who had the vision to make this event happen and the hard work of our organizing committee, from all the positive comments we should be back bigger and better next year. Youth are our future!
